Ten days long-life prayer ceremony (Tse Dung Drup) recitation will commence from 2nd December 2016 at the Thimphu Memorial Choten. The prayer will be presided over by His Holiness Kathok Situ Rinpoche, together with more than 30 monks from the Kathok Baylangdra Monastery. The prayer will be held to Honour and Celebrate the Royal birth of Gyalsey Jigme Namgyal Wangchuck.
During the Tsedrup, monks will recite long-life prayers to avert misfortune, evil spirits, and negativity. The prayer will bring peace and harmony in the country of Bhutan and the world. It is also believed to have the power and blessing to extend and regenerate our lifespan. The Tsedrup prayer will conclude on 9th December with ganachakra offerings of tsokor and a long-life empowerment to bless the devotees and the general public.
Therefore, devotees wishing to offer butter lamps, prayers and Nyendhars are most welcome to participate in prayer from 2nd December – 9th December 2016 at Thimphu Memorial Choten.
