Kathok Dharma Centre (KDC) Foundation
Kathok Dharma Centre (KDC) Foundation is a non-profit and apolitical religious organization registered under the Religious Organizations Act of Bhutan 2007. The Foundation was established by Kathok Yosel Samtenling Monastery, Beylangdra, under the compassionate blessings and patronage of H.H. Fifth Kyabje Kathok Situ Rinpoche on 27/12/2012. The KDC is mainly established to spread Buddhism for the well-being of all sentient beings, in particular, to fulfill the compassionate activities of H.H. Jadrel Rinpoche and H.H. Kathok Situ Rinpoche. Such intentions are inspired from the wisdom of Their Majesties the Kings and H.H. the Je Khenpo in propagation and protection of Buddha Dharma in Bhutan and beyond. Moreover, to contribute in fulfilling one of the pillars of Gross National Happiness by protection and promotion of culture of Bhutan, which is imbibed in Buddha Dharma.
KDC Membership System
Due to the repeated request from devotees, particularly from disciples and Longchen Nyingthik Ngondro practitioners to create a platform to connect and engage with Dharma and activities of the KDC, the KDC Membership was initiated in 2015. Since then, its members’ registration and management was carried out manually. However, this manual registration and management of membership was inconvenient and time consuming for members. Therefore, the KDC online Membership system was developed and launched on 5th December, 2022 by H.H Kyabje Kathok Situ Rinpoche and H. H Dungsey Namgay Dawa Rinpoche coinciding with the 8th Annual Tshedrup Chenmo at the Memorial Chorten, Thimphu KDC has numerous planned and ad-hoc events and activities within and outside Bhutan. Some of the activities include, oral transmission and empowerments, specific and public teachings, collective practices of Ngondro, monthly waning and waxing feast (Tshog-Khor) offerings, appeasement of guardian deities, individual and public rituals and Tshey-Thar (saving lives) initiative of animals and any other ad-hoc religious activities. The online system is expected to support everyone to connect and engage as registered members of KDC.
